Presepe a Santa Maria Maggiore – Roma

I personaggi del Presepe di Arnolfo di Cambio, nella Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore, a Roma, possiedono la commovente bellezza della semplicità. Le figure medievali scolpite dall’architetto toscano (1240 circa-1310 circa) su commissione di papa Niccolò IV, il primo pontefice francescano, così scabre ed essenziali, hanno un atteggiamento sobrio, che desta tenerezza. Assistono in silenzio al miracolo del Dio che si fa bambino. E in silenzio lo raccontano a chi li guarda.

Papa Niccolò, oltre a essere affezionato al presepe – del resto fu Francesco d’Assisi ad inventarlo: quello vivente allestito a Greccio dal santo nel 1223 fu il primo della storia –, con la sacra rappresentazione desiderava rendere onore alle reliquie ospitate nella bellissima Basilica Liberiana: nella cripta sotto l’altare centrale sono tuttora conservate infatti le tavole della mangiatoia in cui Gesù fu deposto la notte di Natale, ed è per questo che la chiesa posta sulla sommità del colle Esquilino è conosciuta anche come “Sancta Maria ad Praesepe”.

Le otto statuette del Presepe di Arnolfo – la Madonna col Bambino al centro, san Giuseppe appoggiato al bastone, le teste dell’asino e del bue, i tre Magi, dei quali uno inginocchiato – sono oggi ospitate nel Museo della Basilica.

Sono ancora lì, e da più di sette secoli raccontano in silenzio la storia semplice e meravigliosa di Dio che si fa bambino.

RECOLLECTION DE NOËL DES SIGNUM FIDEI (TERRE-SAINTE)

La fraternité Signum Fidei de Terre-Sainte a approfondi le thème « Par son Incarnation, il nous a donné la vie » durant la retraite de la fraternité pour préparer Noël. La journée a eu lieu le 11 décembre au couvent des Salésiens, à Crémisan, près de Bethléem.
Un temps de prière animé par le Frère Daoud Kassabry a inauguré la journée. Les 30 participants venant de trois collèges ont alors réfléchi sur l’histoire du salut et la volonté du Père de sauver les hommes en envoyant son propre Fils.

Une heure de lecture et de prière personnelles a permis à chacun de découvrir la Méditation du Fondateur sur la Fête de Noël.
Au cours de cette rencontre, les jeunes séminaristes du Patriarcat latin ont animé une heure d’adoration sous le thème : « Il est avec nous ». L’Eucharistie, célébrée par le Père Samer Madanat et durant laquelle il a donné une très belle homélie sur l’incarnation de Dieu et la réponse de l’homme est venue achever le temps de réflexion.
Un repas fraternel a regroupé tous les participants et a été suivi par une visite au Centre des Pères Antonins, à Bethléem, qui accueille des handicapés et des personnes du troisième âge.

RÉCITAL DE NOËL À JÉRUSALEM

Pour la quatrième année, le Collège des Frères de Jérusalem a organisé un festival de Noël auquel ont été invitées les chorales des écoles de Jérusalem et de Cisjordanie à venir chanter la joie de cette fête.
Le récital, intitulé «  Nous chantons pour le Roi qui vient »,  s’est déroulé le samedi 5 décembre dernier, au Centre Notre-Dame, à Jérusalem. Dix chorales venant de dix écoles ont participé à cet évènement si important pour les chrétiens de Jérusalem.
La rencontre a débuté avec l’illumination de l’arbre de Noël par Frère Rafael Gonzalez, responsable général des Ecoles des Frères en Terre-Sainte accompagné de M. Suleiman Rabadi, Directeur du Collège de Jérusalem. M. Suleiman Rabadi a ensuite souhaité la bienvenue à l’auditoire en rappelant l’importance du travail ensemble pour mener à bien des projets éducatifs à Jérusalem.
L’Ecole des Frères de Bethléem a participé pour la première fois à cet évènement, grâce aux démarches et aux efforts incessants de M. George Naber, Directeur de l’école, pour obtenir des autorités israélienne les permis d’entrée à Jérusalem
A la fin de ce récital, Frère Daoud Kassabry au nom du comité organisateur, a remercié le coordinateur de la fête M. Fredo Hazo, et tous les responsables de chorales :

Looking to the future

YOUNG LASALLIANS

In the third week-end of November 2015 (from 20 to 22), The RELEM Young Lasallians Council met at the Generalate in Rome to consider the possibility of continuing to work with and for Young Lasallians and also to see what we can learn from  the reality of each district.

The members present were:

– Lorenzo Cutore (Italy) for District of Italy – Chair of the RYLC.

– BérengèrePichelin (France) – District of France – Vice Chair of the RYLC.

– Fernando Eslava (Spain) –  District of ARLEP

– Cristina Martisca-Cosa (Romania) – District of Central Europe

– Joseph Gilson (Malta) – District of Ireland, Great Britain and Malta

– Br. Jean François Morlier – General Councilor’s Delegate on the Council

– Br. Aidan Kilty – General Councilor for RELEM

Though the general councilor had found the person he was looking for at the last meeting, Céline Gillardin from the District of Belgium North couldn’t be with us.

 

In our sessions we discussed:

– WYD 2016 at Krakow – for which Young People are getting organized through their Dioceses, in most districts. France is organizing a pre-WYD, specially for Lasallians but open to all the other youths,  in Beauvais.

– Plan of communication –  We realize it is very impotent to share our good practice and it is important to encourage all the sectors to keep sending the good news to the district councilor and through him to RELEM and to the Institute in general.

– Upcoming RELEM Young Lasallian Formation Projects – is a proposal for the next few years

b. Summer 2017 ­ Spirituality and Catechism in the 21st Century

c. Summer 2018 ­ Formation opportunity for young teachers focusing on a school related theme: Language learning-teaching; Technology, etc

d. Summer 2019 ­ Project in cooperation with RELEM NGO Group

– Preparation for Conference of Visitors ­ YL RELEM Report to Brothers Visitor ­ for April 2016

– Preparation of Report for ICYL 2016 meeting – was a moment of sharing and, helped by a survey, we saw the reality of  Terms, Structures, Formations Community  and Vision with  regards to the Young Lasallians  in each District

– Young Lasallian Movement Italy ­ 28 Oct ­ Nov 2 2016 – Is inviting all Young Lasallians to be present and participate in the Jubilee of Mercy

 

Everyone left the meeting with the desire to accomplish his/her tasks to the best of their abilityl and hoping that the future  will see an increasingly fuller involvement of young Lasallians in each district.
